RIHANNA
Rihanna introduced him to a world of calmness, groove, intimacy, rhythm and freedom.
The Story
A child of Bafoussam. A stage. A decision to let the work speak.
01
Long before the name BRAYLAND existed, there was simply a young boy who loved music.
Growing up in Bafoussam, Cameroon, music was already part of everyday life.
He discovered street music, rhythm, dance and rap at an early age.
With friends, tables and classroom benches could become instruments.
In the streets, he discovered the musical energy around him and began absorbing everything he heard.
02
At school, BRAYLAND participated in performances, dance and singing activities.
During one of his first major school performances, the people he was supposed to perform with were too shy to step forward.
He went on stage alone.
He sang. He danced.
A large crowd watched. And people started asking: “Who is that guy?”
That moment stayed with him.
03
Later, at around twelve years old, he travelled to northern Cameroon and continued his studies in the Adamaoua region.
There, his relationship with performance grew stronger.
He performed for the first time in church, then later in front of a large crowd during an inter-class event.
Once again, people noticed him.
04
BRAYLAND discovered something that would remain part of his identity:
He would rather surprise people with his work than talk about what he is going to do.
He works quietly.
Then he lets the result speak.
Influences
Rihanna introduced him to a world of calmness, groove, intimacy, rhythm and freedom.
Damso influenced his approach to vocals: controlled, expressive, calm and recognizable.
Wizkid influenced his approach to style, elegance, sensuality and effortless presence.
Michael Jackson inspired his understanding of performance, dance and the power of becoming an unmistakable artistic figure.
Influence is not imitation.
BRAYLAND takes inspiration, then transforms it into something of his own.
The birth of BRAYLAND
In 2022, the name BRAYLAND emerged.
The name was created from his own names, turning something personal into an artistic identity.
He did not want a random name. He wanted a name connected to himself.
BRAYLAND became more than a name. It became a character. A signature. A world.
Independence
NO LABEL.
NO DEPENDENCE.
NO SHORTCUTS.
BRAYLAND chose to build his artistic journey independently.
Even though his family had the means to help him, he chose to work for his own projects.
He worked in a laundry to finance his artistic ambitions. He searched for studios. He invested his own effort.
He wrote. He recorded. He learned.
His first major musical project was created through his own determination.
Independence is not a limitation. It is part of the strength behind the BRAYLAND identity.
The first song
The first major release marked a new chapter.
Created through his own effort and resources, the song was followed by a music video filmed in Yaoundé.
From that point, BRAYLAND began moving from a young performer into an artist building a real body of work.
Yaoundé
After his early performances, BRAYLAND continued developing his artistic identity in Yaoundé.
One of his first important performances there became another step in his journey.
The audience reaction confirmed something he already believed: the stage was not just a place to perform. It was a place to be remembered.

The process
Every BRAYLAND project begins with an idea. Then comes the writing.
Themes are explored. Lyrics are developed. Melodies are shaped. The music is refined.
BRAYLAND can spend months writing and developing songs before entering the studio.
The goal is not to release music simply to release music. The goal is to build a world around every song.
The journey
Born and raised in Cameroon, BRAYLAND's journey eventually took him beyond his original environment.
After Yaoundé came Indonesia. A new country. A new culture. A new chapter.
But the same vision remained: to build an international artistic identity without losing the story that created it.
Philosophy
Life does not give everyone an easy road. There will be doubt. There will be rejection. There will be people who tell you that you cannot do it.
BRAYLAND chose another response: work.
Believe in yourself. Keep moving. Keep creating. Keep improving.
You do not need everyone to believe in your vision before you begin. Sometimes you have to believe first.
The work speaks for itself.
